JUST GOT A 1985 350X SWING ARM I KNOW SOME YEARS WILL FIT THE 250X WILL THE 1985, AND WILL I NEED TO USE A 350X AXLE OR WILL MY 250X AXLE WORK, DID NOT PAY MUCH SO MY FEELINGS WILL NOT BE HURT,IF THIS WONT WORK .THANK FO ANY INFO

 

I think you can fit any year 350x swingarm into a 250x. The only difference in the 85 vs. 86 & 87 is the brake caliper holder.

You will need to shim both sides of the swingarm to properly fit into the frame.

Also, its best to use the 350x shock. Otherwise you are going to have to fabricate some kind of linkage to make the 250x shock work. The 250x shock is an eye to eye shock vs. the 350x shock which is eye to fork.

The 250x bearing carrier and/or axle will work in the 350x swingarm. Oh, also need to mention that if you use a 350x axle you will gain about two inches of width, but the sprockets aren't going to line up just right due to the design of the 350x sprocket hub. Although you can do what I did and press off the sprocket hub from the 250x axle and install it on the 350x axle (the splines are the same) then you can have a stronger axle (25 spline wheel hubs vs. 24) plus you get the extra width.

Sorry, dont' have any info on the Tecate rear shock, but hey, if you already have it then size it up and see if will work.
