two things that bother me, small fuel capacity and no reverse.
which really aren't problems, but for that price it is.
I can't see any reason to by it over a predator. The engines, I'm guessing are similar in power. The only things I see better are the weight,( which could mean weak frame and a-arms, we'll have to wait and see) and better stock shocks up front.

From what I heard from some Yamaha guys, the shocks arn't all that great. The FOX Racing shox are better, from my understanding. The Predator is still wider, longer wheel base, anti-dive/squat suspension, stronger axle, PRO Steering....I don't know, going to be a toss up, but for their price, and how my Predator comes stock, I'll stick with my Predator! Is that a sway bar on the front suspension?

I'm suprised Yamaha still limited the travel up front to 9 in. I bet you see a lot of racers have to change suspension anyway for that quad. And yes, they will still want to widen it!! The rear tires also look questionable for race ability. But there is no doubt that that engine will give a predator a run for it's money. The power to weight ratio is pretty good, better than a pred. But I think for the difference in price, the predator still has the better stock package. Hopefully ATV Sport will give it a review...and as for dirt wheels, well of course they will love it...they love anything with 4-wheels that doesn't say "Polaris" on the side!

bike looks tight, definality give the predator a run for the money. but would you buy a first year yamaha? they wouldn't make the same mitsake twice, would they?? any way, i heard rumors that polaris was going to make a bolt on 440 jug that would line right up to the pred's cases, any truth do you think?. now would it keep up with the 450 being almost 100 pounds lighter. ( 100 b/c yamaha already has a kit to elimate the electric starter and battery, shaves 30 pounds off). what the polaris needs is a lighter swing arm, wonder what the weight is?

the only thing i like is that it use a keihin carb,440 cc is a good target for a new, more efficient engine, shorter stroke to get revving quicker, should have amazing throttle response tough,i'm not sold on this patent pending 5 valves tough...plastic design is way too cool...
in at last but not least, lightweight.

Your gettin the bike? The quad is the yfz. You might want to get that straight before you order it.

I personally am NOT a fan of reverse, but have an idea. What if reverse was an option like the starter/battery delete kit from Yamaha. If a manufacturer sold a kit that would allow reverse, would you pay for it both in $ and weight? Like I said, "just an idea".

Dodgepower - yamaha didn't take the time to put reverse in the new quad because its not that kind of quad. Its basically an all out race quad and thats what it was made for. Its not built for lazy people that dont wanna have to push their quad backwards a couple feet instead flipping a little button. just my 2 cents
