What would happen?

You will not get the full power that the pipe was intended for. Depending on the pipe the clutch works with the powerband of the pipe. If it cant shift at the right rpm's it will miss the powerband or maybe not even reach it. The stock clutch will only shift out at around 5400-5600 rpm's but the powerband is more around 6000 up to 6800. The stock clutch wont shift out that high. It will make it quicker off the line but thats only half of what the pipe can do. What kind of pipe are you thinking of getting?

I emailed HSP and asked and they said that no mods were needed to put on there 250 pipe but HPD has clutch kit as a requirement i dont want to spend a ton of money just want a little more power when i hit the throttle, the speed is pretty good but more would be better. thanx for the help.
