Craycratft ran great at Pismo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well i went out for a day toride the oceano dunes for the first ride on the new Craycraft686,and let's just say i am very happy with the performance and the all around power..
I love to jump and dune and then go to the drags and be a dominate bike..I ran it good for about 20 to 25 runs on the strip and beat pretty much everything there,a few banshees i didient even try,and a sparks 690 was up on by a a bike or 2..I put a 120pound rider on and he took the sparks for a ride.... I was running sand geckos, yea i said geckos and still winning, had a 12 tooth for the hill drags and my clutch was slipping really bad,so when i get all that dialed in i know for sure i will pick up 3-4 bike lenghts.
cant be more happy with the engine and i love the pull on this thing, there's nothing better than passing someone and they have no more juice to go any faster, then i kick her into 5th and say BY-BY....
I will putting her up against any builder when i race, and i love to beat a pretty fast banshee, there were 3 of them with pipes swingarms and i beat them all the time....it was fun but it has to be the best all around for jumping, duning, and dragging..Thanks to SIXSIXt,BOB,Jerry, and MARk.......

Sam - I dont want to dis you or anything but I dont think you came closer than 4 bike lengths to that Sparks. I was there and the Sparks bike was running better than ever. Bigbaja fast 720 beat you buy 2 to 3 bike lengths and lost by 5 to 6 to the Sparks 690. So I dont know what angle you were looking at when that occured cuz I was riding with the owner of that bike as the Honda 465ex on alky. They were the two fastest 4 strokes out there. I got to ride the 720 with me on it and beat the 465 on alky but couldnt touch the Sparks. I am not saying your bike is slow at all, matter of fact it was pretty fast. I didnt recall your buddy racing the 690 at all but still I dont think it could touch it. Scotts 720 is pretty fast, actually Memorial day it beat everything out there except the Sparks z435 that was kickin the sand in everyones faces.

Glad to hear it Sam. If you were within 2-3 lengths of Bigbajas 720 thats pretty good. I was within 3 bikes or so of Tony's 720 up Dumonts hill. Tony and scott are similar in weight. Are ya going to Pismo this weekend? We'll be there Saturday morning about 9 am.

Glad you got it together and riding!! Wheter you win or lose is not that important anymore, having fun is. I believe you have the 11-1, small cam, port/polish?? To run close to those other quads is a win in it self to me. Do a little more tuning and you can pick up some more. Change your front spocket and pick up a few more lengths. We have seen on the dirt drag stip that raptors like more gear. Use that tourque to your advantage.

Mark, these realy aren't fair comparisons in that Scott (the quad he raced) is 280-300lbs. Tony the guy I raced up Comp at Dumont is around the same ballpark. Sam is maybe 220-230 I'm 250. Now Mario has the same motor (720) Tony had and he flat out flys and beat tony by 4 quads or more. He's also in the lower areas of 200lbs. The mildly tuned Craycraft 686's that Sam and I have are perfect for some fun at the drags and all around dune and anything else rides. Kudos to Craycraft.

I bet if you had the Triple buffs on the rear of your bike you could have gained at least 4 bike lengths. JMO. I am not really a fan of the geckos and it seems like to me they rob horse power from your bike. I would like to see this bike run again with some better tires. Plus, you had problems with your left rear wheel and I know that didnt help much. I borrrowed the same tires from the Sparks bike and gained about 3 bike lengths myself and am really sure you would gain more than me.
