Can anyone tell me what the major advantage would be to having aluminum wheels over stock steel. Want to get some but need to know if it is just a cosmetic thing or what. THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!

Aluminum is just lighter.

If you get .190 ITP or Douglas they are just as strong as Steel Wheels.

I just recently bought from high lifter, itp magnum billet aluminum rims.
1. They look sharp.
2. and more important. My xpedition 425 cc 5-speed
is more snappy now. It was good before but it really can move out now. To help with this. I bought Mud Bug tires by maxxis. So I bought the lightest rims with the lightest tires, but very tough! Im not sure of the weight reduction, but my
estimate would be 40 lbs. This would mean that my polaris xpedition 425 cc 5-speeds base weight would change from 647 lbs. to 607 lbs. approx. It made a big difference in better performance so I was pleased. My only draw back, is that the tires with there 1.3 inch lugs at high speeds, the atv wobbles some. Each time out, I get more accustomed
and can drive faster, but overall, I cannot drive it full speed. At least not yet. Full speed was 57 mph. With the weight reduction, it is probably over 60 now if I dared to try it. We shall see. I wanted a mud machine any how, so I got what I wanted. Speeders, buy different tred tires.
