Does ESR make a good bolt on 330 kit? I see a lot of them or CT Kits. Any strong opinions on a 310 or 330 kit for an 89 250R Quad?

 

both sizes are good motors.. although from ESR im not sure about the 330 bolt on kit... i hear its just a 310 bored out to its last bore. wheras the standard 330, requires your cases to be machined.

 

Are you happy with the 350 power valve? How much did it set you back about $$ ? DO you have to run racing gas or at least 50/50?

I see a lot of the CT350. Did that require machining the case? Any other necessary mods?

What kind of pipe and carb are you running?

my buddy has the CT 330 kit on his r and it is a bad machine. i've seen him dump the clutch around a birm and the bike shot out right from under him.

 

CT racing has all the prices on their website. for me i use the esr trx 5 pipe and a keihn 38mm airstryker carb. im very happy with my motor. ESR also makes a powervalve motoer as well. as far as what gas to use i use straight race gas.. but you can have your motor set up to use whatever you want. any displacement over 310 will need to have the cases machined. the R tranny is so tough that no real upgrades are needed except for a new clutch basket. i run a hinson and i use stock clutch plates. the stock plates are pretty much the toughest out there. when i dropped my motor at CT to get 350 installed they went through the entire bottom end and replaced a few gears and other components that had been worn out.. added about another 600 bones to teh cost
