Default Jetting help

160/165 GYT-R jets, 25 pilots, 3rd clip on needle, 2-3/4 turns and 2-1/2 turns on mixture screws on Full Yoshi Comp, GYT-R foam filter with no lid.

On a cold start it runs rough in the lower RPM range but sounds fine in the upper RPM’s. After about 30 seconds of running it bogs out and has a hard time starting again. Once I do get it running it wont idle and kind of sounds like the rev limiter is kicking in on the lower RPM’s.

My elevation is 750 ft.

What do you guys think?

I would try that first. Make sure you clean out ALL the little passages. Remove the pilot jets & mains and make sure you can see light when you look through them...

I cleaned everything and changed back to the 22.5 pilots. Still flooding out after about 30 seconds of run time. Any suggestions.

Still sounds like too-low floats to me. How long do you have to let it sit before it fires back up?

Did you make sure the needle valve flows a lot of fuel when it's open? CHeck for air leaks around the carb boot(s). Is there smoke in the exhaust?

If I wait about 10 to 15 minutes it'll start back up and run fine for another 30 seconds. I shut the fuel off when it started to bog down and it cleaned up and ran good. Turn the fuel back on and it bogs.

Plug check shows way rich.

I did check the boots and they're fine.

There is smoke in the exhaust.

Then it almost HAS to be gummed up needle valve. I'd remove float bowl and obsere the fuel flow from the open valve. Could also be a blocked pilot airscrew, but I doubt it. I think your float bowl is overfilling. On my wolverine, it acted the same way when the float level was way too high - it can make you think you need to change the needle position...
