For trails, they both have short wheelbases and good handling. If you want reliability, get the 250. If you want to go faster and be able to modify it cheaper, get the Blaster.

i think that they are both great trail bikes but the 250ex usually does better in mud even tho it is a lil underpowered. for the road it is definintly the 250ex though, mostly because it is a 4-stroke. i had a blaster and it wasnt to good on the road. i sold it to a friend who rode it on the rode alot and had it runnin topend for to long and he blew the engine.after he got it repaired he let his cousin ride it who also blew the engine for the second time. thats not so likely to happen with a 4-stroke.

If you want speed and quickness then the blaster is it. Reliability and over all comfortable then 250ex.

For the mud and forest trails the 250ex is alot better than the blaster. But on any road and trail were top speed could be reached the blaster will be better. The reliability of the 250ex is also better

go with the 250ex, i have a blaster and a 250ex, guess what one i ride the most? the 250 because i can ride it all 4 seasons, put some gators on it and is great in the snow, great for mud also, and if you pipe and jett it, it will be just as fast as the blaster. as for upgrades, your going to have trouble finding them for the 250ex, powroll makes a big bore kit for it, there are plenty of pipes for it, pleanty of dressing up pieces but you cant find as much stuff and as much of a variety as the upgrades for the blaster.

250ex- by the end of this summer i will hopefully have wheel spacers, new bumper, grab bar, handle bars, and maybe that 270 big bore kit from powroll. Great for mud, snow, road, trail, wheelies and pipe makes a huge power increase.

blaster- its sitting by the road with a for sale sign on it, only time it gets ridin is if my friends isn't running and he needs something to ride. I havent ridin the new 2004 blaster but i have heard it is better than the previus years.
good for trails, speed, upgrades, wheelies, to make money off of.

I like the blaster but the honda is very reliable. I think the blaster is reliable to and more powerful. Take your pick.

The blaster is faster and quicker, but if its usually muddy where u ride then get the 250ex or you could think about getting the 400ex as you wouldnt grow out of it? hayve

good point the 250ex is a little small, I have almost grown out of it, and im looking for a 400ex, Ive only had it for 9 months. Its a great machine but it just doesn't have enough speed for me.
