Overheat or am I just paranoid?
#1
Hey,
when I start up my quad (when it's cold). After about 5-10 seconds of it being started (no choke). The header pipes are sizzling hot. I can't hold on my finger on them after 10 seconds of running. Also, one day I had some left over water in the radiator fins from having washed it the day before. After about 20 seconds of the quad being started up. That water started to evaporate.
Is this normal to get hot so quick...or am I just concerned for no reason...
My fan rarely comes on. (haven't seen it on in a while..wondering if it's running). And my red light has never come on...
Normal or severe paranoia?
Thanks

You are severly paranoid and the headers are not suppose to be touched after it has run lol. joking! Ride and don't worry 'bout it unless the dummy light comes on. then you will most likely have a problem lol.

I agree... My egg cooker is the same way.
Most of my bikes or quads never get as hot as the Bomb. But... as long as they put the temp sensor at the right level when they made this thing... then we should all be okay. I can't believe I haven't blown mine up yet due to this heat issue. Hence the reason I added Aluminum Radiator Shrouds. And I don't let my Bomb run when sitting... that's really bad for any water cooled bike in a heated climate.

Dude your DS is going to Blow up! Mine does the same thing when I wash it ...those things are atomic bombs.
My fan comes on if I just look at it funny. I have the opposite problem that you do ... my fan seems to always be on regardless of what I do. I finally just added a temp gauge and realized that it was never even close to overheating.
