How hard is it to get the predator on 2 wheels
#1
I have been researching my first Quad and have come across a statement in off road magazine that the Predator does not like to wheele. Can the Predator be brought up with just a throuttle rap or do you have to dump the clutch?

That is something that you have to play with. The antisquat suspension makes it difficult to wheelie. I have ridden my friends preditor many times but have trouble getting the wheels up but ha can get them up pretty well. He said it took alot of messing around to get the right combination of throttle, clutch and pulling up. It is not made to wheelie easy. Thats what makes it a more superior quad on the mx track.

I have been hearing for a while that the pred wont wheelie but I have no problem. I have yet to master it but will soon. I weigh 180 lbs and dont have a problem. The rear susp is soft so it takes some practice. I forget who it is but someone has some picks doing wheelies on this forum.

For me it takes a little persuasion to along with a throttle rap. In some ways its harder than a 300ex to wheely but I totally understand why. You will find that trait useful though if ya ever drag race.

you are better off with the antisquat because of drag racing, you can't drag race a 400ex because you would be falling off the back of that quad while the predator is running circles around you, now the one mechanic at our dealer took the first predator we had out down the road and got it on a wheelie in every gear now you tell me.

The guy I know that has one said it was hard but he could do it. I haven't seen him but he said it takes some doing for him to get the front end up but he said he could keep it there once he got it up. Like everyone says this is actually a good thing since you don't want to wheely in a race everytime you barely tap the gas.

While in second gear....rev the engine up good....let off the gas for a second.... then right back on the throttle (tug on the handle bars). It WILL wheelie....but its difficult to ride for extended lengths.
Not the best quad to ride wheelies....Try a Raptor (easy in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear)....or my favorite THE FORCE (from a dead stop or rolling...you can ride a wheelie all day long)
BTW...I have witnessed the Predator kick the a$$e$ of my V and the Raptor (even a piped Raptor)....Nice holeshot on that Predator! Scary power in top end!
