Default Banshee front 13 tooth front sprocket...help

I just took off the old 14 tooth front procket and put a 13 tooth from WPS to improve my low end power. What do I do next, the chain feels too loose ( as I thought it would ) Do I need to replace the rear sprocket as well or take off a link in the chain?

All you have to do is adjust the chain using the chain tensioners. If the banshee is as similar to the warrior frame as I think then it's very simple. Look behind your rear shock, you'll see 2 bolts sticking out of the back of the swingarm, 1)loosent the nuts on the bottom of them 2) loosent the (i think this what it's called) carriage bolt on the side of the swingarm, if you don't do this then you'll snap the bolts. Now tighten those 2 bolts that I first told you about. Make sure you tighten them equally, otherwise your axle won't be straight and you'll be like those monster trucks running down the track sideways! If this is confusing, which it probably is just ask me for help in area's that you don't understand,

Patrick

Ok I have loosened the swing arm bolt up front then loosened the 2 bolts behind the rear shock, then what the swing arm will move backward? I'm kinda confused explain it in baby steps for me so I dont screw it up and have to take it in to Yamaha. I know I've got to be doing it close to what you said but no results yet.

there are two bolts that hold the axle assembly to the swingarm. they hide behind the rear sprocket and brake disc. you need to loosen thees two bolts. then go behind the bike, there will be two bolts sticking off the back off the axle assembly. they use a size 10 mm and 12 mm wrench, if you tighten these they tighten the chain if you loosen them you chain will go loose. there should be about 1 inch of up and down movement in the chain when you are done. if this doesnt make sense i know my local library carrys some manuals for atvs, go down to the library and check out a manual. or go to your dealer and buy a manual it is worth the money. also if your sprocket was worn out chances are so is your chain and your rear sprocket, i change both sprockets and my chain once a year on my banshee hope this helps dave.

Thank you yesterday I pulled a 12 hr shift at work then went home and tried what you had said, o course not paying much attention to exactly what your first instructions were and it didn't work and naturally I got pissed that it wasn't working till I realized I missed the top bolt and once I got it loose it it worked. I shouldn't have got made and logged back onto the forum and asked for help your instructions were perfect, It was my fault for not realizing you ment the verry back of the swing arm. Thank you for all your help, and for adding the fact there should be 1 inch travel on the chain, that was my next question in regards to the amount of chain slack.
