Default jetting for my ds

I have the mods I have listed and the weather here is hot as hell which seems to need less fuel. My ds run on the lean side every since I put the hmf pipe on. I have a dynjet kit with 190 main jet and needle in the 4th clip. It also runs on the hot side. thought it run like a bat outta you know. Just wondering if I should go up on the main and move the needle clip down some more. I live 260ft above sea level.

didn't i see you bought the hmf? i'd call them when i talked to them they had jetting for there pipe. we have the woods pipe on my wifes and run 170 main 4 clip and it works well. but then again at a 140 she should do well.

Hmf probably do have jetting recomendations but I go by seat of the pants dyno and SHe also run hot quicker. My fan never kicked on that quick.

fastone21,

Do not go by the seat of the pants dyno!!! DO PLUG CHECKS!!!

If the fan comes on faster (or sooner), your jetting is off.

I have similar mods to you(except slide spring mod and CDI) and I gotta tell you that my ds ran lean at idle so I jumped it up to a 50 pilot(had trouble finding 47.5 pilot, if you find one tell me where to get one). I suggest you try it also, then three turns out with the dyno jet kit. 195 and third clip position is good for our mods

that sounds like good advice. I will try it as soon as I find some pilots.
