1st timer...need some help

Default 1st timer...need some help

I have alwyas had an interest in ATVs and i have never owned an atv and have only ridden one once, and if anyone could help me out on what to look for when buying one, and the steps i need to cover after buying one, and pretty much what to do..it would be greatly appreciated it. thanks

what type of riding/terrain?
automatic or straight drive?
sport or 4x4?

what will you be doing with it?
what is your budget?

what is your size, and ability. Ridden any dirtbikes? Age?

Default 1st timer...need some help

im 17 years old...6'3", my budget is less than 4,000...im not sure what type, i thinking im leaning towards a utility so i can also use it for working, and also still be able to have fun with it, but i dont kno if thats the wya to go, ive ridden one once about 2 years ago...never rode a dirt bike

It really depends on what you think you want to tackle. As with everything we do, there is a learning curve to riding. Some bikes are designed to make it way easy on the rider (one button to go, one lever to stop), and will also be very comfy. Sport bikes on the other hand, are much less forgiving, but if ridden properly and artfully, can be a true thrill.
I would be sure to at least get a bike that is properly sized to you.
At 6'3" you need a larger bike to give you plenty of room to move around.

Do a search about this topic. Many new riders have gotten their start here, and the archives have plenty of info for you. The best thing you could do would be to read every thread you can about this. You will even be able to see how people feel after they have made their purchase and had some time with it.

4000 is plenty

Ill hold off reccomending a bike for now.
