Rejetting Procedure??? 400ex
#1
My question is I have 03 400ex with white bros. pipe, Uni air cleaner, no lid, and ready to re-jet i have purchased Dyno-jet kit, do i have to follow manual and remove front plastic and gas tank and remove the carb to do this or is there a simple way to do this, My dealer wants 150.00 to rejet, that seems a little high to me, I do have some mechanical skills,i would say above average, Any help would be appeciated,Thanks Guys!!

If you are changing just the main jet you can loosen both clamps, twist the carb and remove the little center cap on the carb bowl. Inside that little hole is the main jet and it can be changed. If you are doing the pilot or needle you'll be better off pulling the carb out. That would be the plastic and gas tank, but not to bad of a job.

dpr9z is the colder plug. however, it may be to cold for your engine mods or the temp outside. its worth a shot though. i run them without any problems. sometimes they make the bike harder to start though.
