Default Fuel Line problem on 03 Scrammy

I just finished changing the oil and noticed that there was fuel dripping off one of the fuel lines. After poking around a bit it looks like it's coming from the input side of the fuel filter...I can't tell if it's the hose or just a bad clamping job. Anyone had any problems like this before?

Is it worth taking it to the shop (it's only about 1 month old) or should I just get a new filter and clamps and replace what's there?

Since it's still new I'm thinking of taking it to the shop and while it's there let them go over the bike to check for any other possible problems.....I'm supposing warranty would only cover the fuel filter.....what kind of $$ should I be looking at for a "go over"?

Are you taking about the line that goes from the gas tank to the fuel pump? If that is the case, it would be real easy to change. A filetr is only a buck or two adn fuel line is really cheap. The gas tank is easy to remove as well. But if it is still under warrenty you mine as well take it in, unless they charge you to look at it.

Yes, it's the line coming from the fuel tank---right where the line attaches to the fuel filter. I'll be calling the dealer today or tomorrow.....Thanks!

Sometimes the fitting may come loose at the bottom of the tank and the leaking fuel can migrate down the line. Good idea to let your dealer take a look at things....er, and no flicking your bic in the mean time.

Maybe it got loose when you were trying to follow that SP 500 through the mud

Cool! Thanks for the info J, I called a couple of dealers around here and they said it'd be a week at the minimum!!

I messed with it a bit today and came to the conclusion that either the clamp wasn't tight enough or the filter was leaking around the seam....the hose looks fine, I even cut about 1/8" off just to be sure but that didn't help....I'll try a small water hose clamp...
