Default 1988 Honda 250R "What Is It Worth"

I just restored a 1988 Honda 250R complete from top to bottom.New everything fenders, decals, axle, tires, rims you name it and it looks brand new. This bike looks like it was just taken out of the crate.I even put the keyswitch and tool-box back on it.Seriously it looks brand new. My question is what is it worth to the right person. You would not want to ride it because you could not hardly duplicate what I have done. It is just for show so what is it worth tp the right person?

I run across a guy that has an 88 restored to better than new, every bolt, nut, sticker along with every other part on it has been replaced with new. He even had some special nylon lined sockets made to assemble it so there wouldn't be any marks on the bolt and nuts lol. I ended up buying another 88 from him but I sure would have liked to had the "new" one, but that is one quad I would never ride, it was absolutely immaculate. I finally got a # out of him before I wrote the check for the one I bought and it would have took 9500.00 to bring it home. We may eventually see it as he claimed to have connections with Honda and they are going to pay him to use it for a photo shoot to compare it to the new one they're working on when it gets introduced to the public.

Were you able to get red oem plastic and where did you get it?

Yes, I did get Red OEM plastic from a local dealer. What is the big problem with getting that all you need is a Honda part number and they can order it for you.If someone needs a set of front left and right fenders I have them still in the box. They are OEM Honda Red for a 88R and still in the factory box.

I inquired at Sevice Honda and was told that the red was no longer available but Honda of Troy supposedly had it but the prices were very steep. Mines not that bad of shape but I may get another set eventually for stock.

What's your price? Are there any scuffs on them at all? Do you know if the red oem tank is still available?

Okay, I will sell the Left and Right fender for $198.00 per side.I do not think that the tank is available but I have a rough OEM tank for sale.It needs polished up to look good. The front fenders are brand new and have only been out of the factory box once.

Well thanks for the info, I'm not comfortable spending that much on fenders, mine aren't cracked just some scuffs from the previous owner. Good luck and thanks....

You could probably get $7500-9K for the '88 R if it looks totally stock and just like it came off the showrrom floor. I saw one on ebay a few months ago go for over $9K. It looked flawless!

why cant service honda get red plastic anymore? i thought they brag about getting everything!
well, no dealer keeps that much plastic in stock - and they all have to end up ordering it from a distribution center... so why cant they order it anymore and honda of troy can?

i need some plastic!
