Default polaris quality?

Hi first let me say hi i am new here but have been reading the forums for some time.
Now i am a little worried as to whether i made a good choice. I bought the Trail Blazer 250
and i have not had any probs so far but reading down the list of topics it seems like knowone
is happy with their polaris. Eather its not enough power or the frame is cracked or they dont keep
up in a drag race what gives. Did i buy a junker tell you the truth i only bought it because it was
full size and cheap and i can "from what aaen says" pull another 20 horsepower out of it for $900.00
whitch would give me 42 horses for about 4k not bad in my opinion. and so far it has been alot of fun to ride I really hope that there not as bad as it seams i would love to see an American copmany as a
big player in small moter sports.
Well thats my 2cents sorry for the spelling it was never my strong point..

I've had zero problems with my trailblazer, its been a great quad. I would suggest doing the performance mods to it ,it will seem like a different machine.

I bought my 2000 Trail Blazer in November of 1999. I proceded to beat the living daylights out of it everytime I rode it. My wife now rides it since I moved on to a larger machine. To this day I have had to do no work on the machine other then proper maintenance. I did bend an a-arm once when I hit a large rock. But that was hardly the machines fault.

Don't worry, you have a solid machine. Now get out there and ride it!

i have to wonder about the people who do complain. did they take care of it? thats the most important thing. check out www.rittercycle.com, rcr stage 1 is 325.00 and includes shipping. only sure advice i can give is take the front rack off if it came with one. it blocks the headlight at night, and yes, what you cant see can hurt you. well when i did finally see it, it still hurt

Polaris has come along way in the past few years with quality. They are very dependable. I dont know what posts you are looking at about cracked frames but I never heard of that issue on a TB. I have been on this forum for a while and know just about everything there is to know on mods for TB's. The 250 is detuned by the factory so yes it is underpowered but there are tons of mods to make it a very quick and still reliable machine. People cant say much bad about the 250 other than it being underpowered. The 250 is very capable of holding its own against a 400. But with some cheaper mods 300's,warriors,blasters,mojave's and just about anything 350cc and under are not a challenge for the TB. I am 31yo 6'1 225lbs that rode a banshee for 8yrs. Now that I am older the banshee beats me up way to much. They are alot to handle on the trails. I liked the way the TB felt and the size. Knowing that they were underpowered I came to this site for research. I even rode a HPD race mod TB. The power (when moded) was plenty for me and I could come home after a weekend of riding and still play with my kids instead of sitting in a hot bath for 2 hrs. You made a good choice and it is up to you on how much you want to spend. HPD has a race mod for $800.oo. That is everything short of the reed conversion kit. The race mod will easily keep up with 400's. So good luck on your quest for speed! There are plenty of people here that really know the 2 stroke polaris's.

I'll add my $.02 to the subject of all the "problems" on the forum. I visit several recreational forums all the time. Think about it this way - the only people that are on these forums are people who are just nuts about the sport or people who are looking for answers to a problem. The vast majority of people who don't have any problems don't spend time on the forums. That makes it seem like there is a disproportionate amount of trouble on EVERY forum. The people who need help come here looking for it. Those of us with any knowledge try to pass it along and be helpful. Don't be mislead by a few dozen people having trouble when you think of the thousands and thousands of these things that are out there. Every brand builds on Monday morning and Friday afternoon. Sh*t happens.

No, I don't have a Trail Blazer, I have an 03 Trail Boss. It came under powered too. I know my machine is entry level and so does Polaris. They deliberately power down their lower classes so as not to over perform the respective class for the safety of the customer. $3800 out the door + $300 in mods and I have a kick @ss machine.
My buddy bought an 03 Yamaha Big Bear 400. He rode my Boss and said not only will it beat his, it handles better and is more comfotable. Check out the suspension you have on your Blazer - good stuff. Look at how they seal everything up - and compare to other quads. Look at the overall quality. You have to like the PVT?

I bought my 250 recently and have had no problems. Two other people purchased them with me, they have had no problems either. You've made a good choice whether the machine is under powered for you or not right now, because there is always performance mods to help you out. 95sport400 has a very good point, for everyone out there with a problem there are thousands that dont have any. Just a quick note from a satisfied customer that you usually wouldnt hear from.
