performance mods for Outlander?
#1
I'm a proud owner of a 2004 Outlander 400 since yesterday. I'm looking for mods to improve my new baby's performance. Anyone heard of clutch kit or exhaust system, or anything for the Outlander 400?

Looks like you have had the quad for several days now... they are a lot of fun and very much a SPORT utility. I've got 2 of the 400's and just added ITP C series aluminum wheels and ITP ATR tires.... Let me say that that was a heck of a good $600 us upgrade. The power goes right to the ground and the hill climbs that used to be a little hairy... will never be again. These tires are fantastic.
They are a low profile radial tire that holds it's shape much better than the stock tires that are on your quad today. The cornering that used to involve some tire roll... does not any more. Just turn and go...
There are several modifications that one can do to their outlander... but I don't know if there are any more worth the cash than this.
Enjoy,
Kaz

You could just go with the tires on the standard rims. You'll get the result of the tires without having to pay so much for the rims, which I think were pretty close to half the $600. You can always add the rims later.
Plastic? Well... I tell ya..there here been a few incendents where I was very glad that it was plastic and not a metal bar that I was knocking against a tree. . The plastic holds up great, without a sign of the impact, where a metal bumper would have dented..
Best of luck,
Kaz
