Default Minnesota Sandblasting?

Does anybody know of a good sandblasting place in the twin cities. I am tring to get my old quad refinished before I sell it, but the one place I checked with today wanted between $200-$250 just to sandblast. That price seemed way high to me. If anybody knows anybody around this area I woulkd love some imput, or if somebody could give me an idea of what a good price is, I was expecting $50-$100. Let me know if I am way off on my expectations. Thanks

Where do you live? I know a dude that may hook you up for a spin on the Z400.....

Also, contact Bartlett Racing. He can probably tell you where to go.

You could go and buy a sandblaster for about $100 and buy about $20 of sand. Then you could sell it on ebay when your done with it.

Thanks for both replies. I did buy a sandblaster, which worked great on the painted parts, but the powder coat was too hard. I need a big *** compressor to get enough power to remove powder!!! FTZLT250r..I would let someone ride my Z to do the job.....just added a full PC system and K&N...should really move now? Does this guy know how to ride??? Most of the powder is already removed, so it would be a easy job for someone with the right equipment. I'm in Eagan, but I ride all over.....mention it to your buddy... We could go out to the pit in Northfield.
Ouh yeh..he breaks it...he buys it.........
Thanks
Dave

By the way what is a "FTZLT-250r "

Put some paint stripper on the powdercoated parts and then try blasting them if that dont work try to find someplace with a bake-off oven.

You would be better off having the guy that Bartlett recommended do it. Especially, if you are also going to get it powder coated. $75 is dirt cheap!

FTZ Performance is an engine builder. They do my pipe and engine. They will gladly do your Z400 engine. They are doing the Kawi version for Jackie Meadows, a GNC TT racer. They don't advertise it, but 4 stroke work is really their specialty. They have 7 consecutive Micro Sprint titles to back it up.

If you still need help with the sand blasting, let me know. My buddy has a big gas powered compressor, and the works for sandblasting.....

Also for future ref, aviation stripper (walmart) softens powder. $12 siphon sandblast gun (walmart). You provide compressor, and sand. And don't ever squeeze the sandblast gun to blast that one little tiny spot you found....just after you took your shirt off... DOH!!!! It's like self-inflicted shotgun wound. hehe.
