I unloaded to fast a few years back and it flipped over.
Anyway i went to the local yamaha dealership last week to "borrow" a quad for my kid. I did to much improving thursday night before the races on his 250ex. I had the honda dealership overnight me a lower ball joint. I decided i better have a back up just in case. I had my sons old lt80 on consignment at the yamaha dealership. I called them and said i wanted to borrow it for the week end. I went up there to get it, normanator and i went in to talk to the owners. As we were talking to them a young employee decided to be helpful and load the quad. I was not paying attention to what was going on outside. I saw a young kid getting up off the side walk and never thought anymore about it. We needed to get back to aledo and out the door we went. I saw the quad was in the back of the truck. I grabbed a tiedown and walked to the back of the truck to secure it. As i looked in the bed of the truck i figured out what happened to the young employee.lol By the way he was not wearing a helmet. We turned to walk back into the store and the owner was headed out the door. He had already heard the news. They said they would take care of it. I was in ahurry so i told them next week i would stop by. I went to a body shop they use from time to time on various things. The discouted store price was 1240.78 cents. I went by the dealer ship and they wanted 1780.00 to fix it.
The quad was on consignment at the store for 1300 dollars
Be careful loading or unloading your quad. You know that is the way things go. I usually take my work truck to do stuff like that. I was in a hurry and did not want to unhook the flatbed trailer from my truck so i took my wifes new truck. 3 months old and 6000 miles on it. It has charater now.

I tried loading ramps on time when I very first bought my quad. The lil chain wasnt on good enough and the sucker slid to the side and fell over as I went up it. My quad kinda tilted and squished me. Every since then ive just loaded it by first putting the front wheels ont he tail gate then picking up the rear and pushing forward. Its easier with another person the the bed stearing it but in a scrape you can use one arm to hold it up and one arm to hit the handlebars with when it gets going crooked.

I see a few people crash loading quads with ramps around here. They will kick a ramp off going up, it is never a pretty sight. I think bansheeboy2k1 did it 2 weeks in a row. (slow learner)

Who needs ramps??!?? Be a man and load it by your self! Just tip it back on the wheelie bar back your truck up to it and go back behind and lift up on the wheelie bar and push it in. Now i am loading a warrior by my self so u guys should be fine with any honda well besides a huge rubicon or something like that. but you should be fine be yourself, but in that case get another fella and left ont he front wheels and set that on your tailgate and the gobehind and lift up on the racks! good work out to. lol. might suck though if ya wrecked hard that day and cant use your uper body. lol

Back in March was my first real ride with the Predator so I borrowed my Brother-in-laws ramps. I set them up and it was the first time I ever used the chains to secure them. I'm so glad I did cause i almost killed it at the top (still new to a manual shift) and slipped the cluth to get it in. When I hopped off the quad the ramps were only over the tailgate 1/2" max. That could have really hurt!

Loading ramps can be a pain, but with a full size truck..at least the Dodge and Ford, lifting the quads in is not a great option. Yeh, with the smaller trucks it is pretty easy. Once I wasn't being realy careful and hit the back of the bed pretty hard...no damage, but I thought I was going to drive into the back seat. Almost crapped myself. My wifes Grampa overshot while loading his snowmobile on a tilting trailer and put it right into the back of their tailgate...ugly!!!!

I've never crashed loading or un-loading a quad but when I was a kid I was riding my YZ 80 up a ramp into the back of my friends truck & the ramp broke in half & sent me falling towards the blacktop with my 80 right on top of me...that was 1982 & I'll never forget it.
