Default L&A Designs one-way for raptor

For all those wondering - the L&A designs oneway will be available on July 14th.

Its a much simpler and more reliable design with each roller is double sprung on its own, I have had one for 2 months and about 300 starts without any problems or noise. L&A has been testing one for over 6 months now with no problems. I really like the fact that it is more like an actual bearing with rollers than yamaha's "oblong sprag" unit.

not only is it going to more reliable - it wieghs less than stock, a majority of the flywheel wieght is the one-way itself. This could net quicker revs off the line for those that have done everything else! I dont have a scale that precise but from the looks of it it is lighter - less rollers/sprags and extra holes drilled into the outer cage.

warrior007,

Do you have any suggestions on pro-longing the life of the one way bearing?

Mine is still original after over 2 years but I have always started in neutral.

yep,

My friends are on their originals still, but mine was the oldest and took a while to get my jetting right, I had choke problems, bad plugs. All lead to less one-way life. I thoroughly trashed my old one from all this abuse.

The best bet is to richen up the idle circuit slightly (1/4 - 1/2 turn) and raise the idle just above 1500. The bike will start easier - prolonging the stockers life.

I also believe that leaving the bike in gear - like in the back of a truck and not tied down can put a beating on the one-way over time. The same goes for hillclimbing, I know when I do not make a hill I lean way up over the front and let the motor hold me there till I can get off and turn it around. sometimes if the motor is not on the compression stroke when this happens it spins backwards and I can hear the starter turning slightly so I know the one-way is engaged which can damage it aswell

That's interesting because most of the time when mine is trailered I do put it in neutral because it seems that there would be stress on certain areas.

Thanks for the info.

How much? Warrior, I ordered my Yamaha oneway, gear, and gaskets shipped for 183. Thanks alot for giving me their number! So let me see if I have this right, to add life to my one way, start in neutral with clutch in. Do you give it any gas or choke it? I will no longer leave mine in gear when travelling. Thanks again.

Again, 007 is leading the charge in the battle to correct the problems with our Raptors !

Thanks dude !

My one way is still hanging in but I'm sure it's just a matter of time
