reverse on raptor?????

put it into first...than turn and hold the reverse ****, while holding the reverse ****, shift down one more time..it should get you into reverse...to get out, shift up once and you should now be in 1st and drive off as usual...

when going into reverse, i usually go from first, turn the ****, push down on the shifter, but then i usually continue to put a little pressure on the shifter because it seems like it really shifts into reverse when you begin to let the clutch out and put a load on the gear. if you try it youll see what im talkin about. it's kinda like how when your not moving at all and for some reason you wanna go from third to first or something, itll only drop one gear unless you semi engage the gear by lettin the clutch out and then you can go down some more. i hope this makes sense. good luck

My wife was having the same problem. She just couldn't get the order right. So I installed a Dr. D's reverse lever on the handlebars. In the infamous words of C. Montgomery Burns........"EEExcellent"......

Motorcycle Gear patterns are like 1-N-2-3-4-5. Raptor and Z400 gear pattern is R-1-N-2-3-4-5, and you can only shift into R by using the Switch and Shift lever. SHifting "up" out of reverse, into 1st is just like upshifting any other gear.

i agree with Warrior. you will get a feel for it....but if you ease pressure on, it will kick into reverse easier then if you just kick it and try and take off.
