whats the best gearing for a piped, stock suspension raptor in drag racing on dirt or blacktop? Ususally run from500-1000 feet.

 

Yep, air is correct. I go through the traps in the 1/8 mile drag strip in the top of fouth gear 72mph. 14/40 gearing

 

i appreciate the info, im running 12/40 right now and its way low to me. Used to run 14/40 and it seemed a little high with bogging on the take off in 2nd. (you can see my mods in my sig) Thinking about just going with stock 13/40.

Ran a remapped, piped cannondale a while back with 12/40 gearing. I believe i might have been a little quicker out of the hole, but he killed me once i hit 5th. But we also raced til we had them both pegged out.

Run 200 ft drags on weekends sometimes. 12/40 seems to be the right set up for that.
