DO both because I doubt you will tell much with each separate.... But both will help considerably!

You will notice a slight increase in power with airbox mod and filter, even more with pipe, at what ever cost do both and rejet, you will be a happy with the performance.

TextI agree....only both with proper jetting will you get the best result. I run a full HMF system with quiet core, stock airbox with lotsa holes, k&n filter, trimmed intake hose, and 160 and 165 jets with aftermarket needle. Man, what a difference! Just for kicks I put the stock exhaust back on a few weeks ago....never again! With the pipe, jets, and filter, this thing rips! Oh, the noise issue? My boss has a decible meter....we got 94 decibles at approx. 3500 rpm at 20 inches from the exhaust opening and 45 degrees to the side. Stock muffler came in at about 89 decibles.... The HMF with no quiet core tested at 106 decibles. It doesn't sound like much difference, but study up on decible ratings and you'lll see why. Our neighbors don't complain anymore.... Have fun!

Cutting the flaps out of the intake snorkel and jetting actually made a pretty good difference on my Raptor. That and a 12 tooth sprocket are my only two mods and it pulls nicely away from stockers or improperly jetted/ piped Raptors.
I can't wait to get a pipe and jet it again. What is this "MBRP" I keep hearing about?

If you don't want to go with the expense of the pipe, which normally costs between 400-550, for a full system, remove your snorkle and trim the vertical flaps (when you look into the front of the snorkle), basically you will be cutting those two flaps totally out. If you are running stock, your jets are 140/145, you can buy mukuni jets at the dealer, go with 145/150, at this point go with an aftermarket filter such as K&N, if you have the extra money go with billet adapter, which attaches to the airbox. The air filter will clamp on the adapter's flanges for a tight, secure fit.
This is still a fairly cheap way to go to achieve improved performance, the only other adjustment you might have is to richen up your air/fuel mixture, which is done by turning the air/fuel adjusting screws counter clockwise, which opens them up a tad.
