quarter mile dosent say much about a quad because of their limited top speed.

1/4 mile ATV racing? Not many do that since quads are about topped out at the 1/8 mile. I've seen 7.2s out of fairly stock Banshees, which would equate to a low 10 second 1/4 mile car.

Eh, I don't think 7.2 is possible out of a stock banshee. I think daren420's 420 trinity ran a best of 8.03. My race bike ran 8.3's. My trail bike ran 9.4's. The only thing stock on its motor is the porting and carbs. That is that SBF stroker running?

I have seen stock raptors run at the local strip, they both ran a 15.0.. The guys told me that were wide open about 3/4 down the track.. The 1/8th miles times were low 9's also.

15.5 seconds My 2003 Honda Accord V6 isn't that fast. I am not sure I believe that. Yes I have a YFZ 450 but that seems pretty quick for a 4 wheeler.

quads are geared real low. race a fast car in a short race, you might surprise the driver of the car.

I would think it would be like a 15. maybe a little bit less.........
My truck runs high 14's and my raptor smokes the he!! out of it.......until about 90 then the chevy flys past it..........
so they

the 1/8 of a mile is the way to race a car if the driver will let you.........
my rappy pulls about 5 TRUCK lengths on my truck in the 1/8th mile.......

A few Raptors in our group run in the low to mid 7's around 87 mph in the 1/8th mile and the moded Banshees run in the 6.0 to 6.2 range 104-108 mph range so its hard to say if the 450 will run that in the 1/4th mile. Not long after the 1/8th mile our bikes are topped out because of gearing and they are geared high; up to a 20 tooth on the front of the Banshees. To get a stock Banshee to run 7.2's in the 1/8th mile is something I would like to see. To get either bike to run through the 1/4th mile without topping out real early in the run would kill your 1/8th mile time and it would take some really tall gearing. Slim

Lol! You're right, I had to look back on that and remember they were more like NINE twenties! There is always a Banshee and a LT500 at Cordova racing on wednesday nights and they run low 9s in the eighth. Running out of gear like they do, this translates into about a 15 second 1/4 mile IMO.

Good rule of thumb is take the 1/8 mile ET X 1.5 to get the 1/4 mile ET. This is a very vague approximation of course, but it gets you in the ballpark.
