im about sick of my problems with my p650 NO JOKE it has 950 miles no mods and a bunch of problems
i cant afford any mods because i been too busy repairing the thing and its NEW you can all list your mods so let me list the beginning of my problems
p650 2003
carbs backfiring since it was new...they richened it up
belt light goes on when it wants and leaves you powerless unless you know the trick to reset it
my fan went through the radiator the second week i had it....i JB welded it myself AND ADDED WASHERS TO FAN EVERYBODY MUST DO!!!
all the plastic wants to break away...the luggage rack plastic even warps, junk skidplates ect
front brake pads wore gone grinding into rotors
now my front right outer shaft broke out for no reason...and its a couple weeks out of warranty
NOW THE SHAFT IS BROKE
and kawasaki wants 361.48 for a new one...and they dont even offer a kit to rebuild it
you can not get a kit how screwy is that !!!! and i have been reading about everybody breaking them....one guy broke them both in
a row THIS IS JUNK!! NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM KAWA KAWA.
i have searched high and low...even had an axle company trying to figure it out
they said its an oddball 18 spline shaft made by some company in japan for kawa kawa and we can not get any parts at all
the guy also said he has seen many smaller quads with way bigger of shafts sounds sad
seems like im stuck in a corner and will probobly be back in this corner sometime soon with no hope
i been moping about this 361.48 plus tax for a week now hoping for another answer...but there isnt...all i can do is keep trying axle sites in japan...searching for this small junk shaft...when all i realy need is a ball cage ***** and a boot
GORILLA AXLE
they dont have what you think they will....and they are over confident that they can fix it....but they dont even really know that they can not get the right rebuild parts so NYROC -I appreciate all the good tips and priceless help on your site...but i THINK your wrong about the p650s not having axle problems and wrong about gorilla axle...unless somebody has actually seen gorilla do a p650 axle
get ready to spend the $$$$$ IF ANYBODY HAS HOPE LET ME KNOW im ordering the shaft monday
I hope i am not offending anybody...i do like my p650 even though it is a basket case

Moke ohio, I don't know if you're into it or not, but Royal Distributing has axles for the 650. It's a Canadian site, so your buck goes a long way. The axles they sell are tougher than stock. $400 Canadian a piece. Go here and have a look. ROYAL I know what you're going through (axle wise) as I broke one of mine about 2 1/2 months ago. I had to get one right from Kawie for $507 taxes in, as Royal didn't have their new catalog out yet. Hope this helps.

Before you order one from a dealer,call Ron Ayers for a price.{ 1.800.888.3084}
Ive bought from them twice before and they have the best prices on replacement parts by far.
I tried to look up the price on their website but it wasnt listed. That doesnt mean they dont have it. It just means you have to call them.

Just had to dredge up this old thread to ask a question, Has anyone ordered/used the heavy duty axles listed in the Royal dist. catalog(pg75). Link to their site is in mastrblastr's post further up in the thread. they look like a pretty good deal, I snapped my outer cv-jt a couple days ago and don't really want to have to get a stock replacement. I know the gorillas are supposed to be the way to go, but shipping from the states to canada is a killer. Thank for any help.

DOA, when I broke my outer CV, I REALLY BROKE MY OUTER CV. The shaft was in 2 pieces and there were chunks missing from the main axle part of the CV cone. There was no way to fix it. The inner CV can be repaired as you mention, but the outer one is toast if you bust it.
