dunes
#1
hello, i have a 250x and i was wondering if i would make it at the dunes with my friend. i know i can't keep up with his 250r or dune buggys. but would i be able to have fun without putting money into paddles. money is tight when you are 13. if it helps we would probably go to silver lake, michigan. thanks for looking.

Matt, paddles are a good investment for riding in sand. No, they are not necessary, unless you are trying to shoot the hills. Small ones you should do ok, The larger ones, you will need the paddles. Go ride the dunes with your friends. This will give you an idea of if you like riding in sand or not. If you do, like so many of us, paddles will be a good investment. Try ebay or keep an eye out. Someone around you or on the forums may have a set for sale for cheap.

mat, i'm 15 and i've been riding for 3 months. my 13 year old brother (who sux *** at riding) has a 250x. the only time he gets stuck is when he trys to keep up with me. he does have paddles but before we got those, the only problem was that the back end likes to dig into the ground when u first start, so don't stop facing up a hill.
