Are there really places to race a quad on asphalt? I have seen a few people claim this. They have street tires on their quads.

Most drag strips will let you race a quad during test & tune provided you have riding gear and a helmet.

Make sure that you account for the tires you are using if they are not street tires. I raced on asphalt when my machine was new. I locked up the brakes and my Bear Claws just left a patch of rubber but didn't slow me down any. Let's just say.... I broke it in a lot sooner that I wanted to. I left about a 50 foot patch of rubber and rolled it end over end when I hit the curb at the end of the street. I have worn a helmet ever since and I no longer race on asphalt.

I would think the front brakes would be enough to slow you down. Did you use them at all? I know on all the quads I have ever riden with mud tires or stock tires all my braking force comes from the front. Imagine if we only had rear wheel braking on cars and trucks, we would all be dead. The tire are not to blame, well maybe a little. Use the front brakes.

If you did use front brakes then that road must of been very hot and your tires too.
