As it stands now my son and myself will be at sandfest on Sept 13 and 14. This will be the first time I've attended this event so I'm not to sure what to expect except for alot of dragging. Is this bracket racing? I would assume that they will have different classes. Do they use a pro tree?

Pudjumper, last year they were using a pro tree, but I didn't race so I don't know whether it was bracket racing or not. It was single elimination, however. The lighting system they had last year was junk. It seemed like they were working on it more than people were using it to race. Hopefully they will have a better setup this year. I should have my Raptor done by then and, depending on price, may race.

Well JMiller,

There are several events including drags at Dune Fest. But, Dune Fest is probably better known for its other events in the evenings. If you go out on wander the sand to some of the sand parties (if they have them this year) you can expect some rated R or worse (or better depending on your perspective) material consistant with spring break, Martis Gras, and MTV all rolled up into one. That QuickSand III video by Thrust Productions has a lot of footage from Sandfest 2001 in there. I was there that year and they say that 2002 was even more wild. This year things are expected to calm down with the new "no drinking" on the sand rules. But I think all the parties will end up in the parking lots where drinking is allowed. I know I am looking forward to it.

LS, OK is what I'm talking about. It is a little confusing.
