Hi, I'm a new member, Hi to all. I just bought a 1999 warrior from a guy in Houston,Tx. The VIN# checks out as a 1999 model. The owner's manual has some ID# numbers that I'm told identifies it as a California model. The numbers is as follows: YFM350XL(c). Does any one know how to ID a California model? SAM

well what the difference is maily, smaller carbs/ and sometimes a different airbox, one that is more restricting.

I have a '99 warrior that also has the 'C' designation. I am in Miami, and the bike was purchased in Ft. Lauderdale. I was wondering the same thing about the 'C', but I don't think that means it is a California model... I hope that doesn't mean it is a California model.

I bought a 2000 Warrior in CA in Sep 99, but sold it a few months ago to buy a 2000 400EX. Comparing it to a 1999 Warrior that was bought out of state though, I couldn't tell a difference beside the color schemes. What I've heard is that the California model doesn't use the typical jet needle using a clip to change the position, but instead uses spacers on top of the housing holding the needle to raise or lower it. To confuse things even further though, I pulled mine and it used the regular jet needle with clip! So who knows! I can tell you that everything else was the same, airbox and intake, and didn't include any additional hoses or stuff regarding emissions control (my 400EX has more emissions junk on it than the Warrior did). As far as the model number, mine was listed as a YFM35XMCL. To be honest, I really don't know if there is such as thing as a "California Warrior", and if so, it isn't anything to lose sleep over.
