my buddy had a 97 or 98 wolverine. he had a couple mods on it (dont remeber exactly what they were cause he sold it a few months ago). when he wheelied it the thing would cut out. did the wolverine have a sensor on it to couse this or was something worng in the carb????? it couldn't have been too major because with all the mods he had of it it would out accel. a grizzly.
just curios

Thumper are you sure?
I thought the 97-98 wolverines had mercury switches to shut off the ignition when the machine was at an angle of 30 deg. +/- 2 deg.

No that type of switch would not be used, due to the fact that if someone was trying to climb a hill and it died and rolled on them, that would be a law suit. What it probably was, on the other hand would be a clogged overflow tube, the kinda brown tinted tube, if you get in some deep mud this is possible, when the machine tips backward the fuel flows into the carb, if it cannot flow out it will flood the engine, cause it to spit and sputter, you can test this by running the machine stopping it. then after its turned off shut off the fuel, when the machine is tipped back onto the grabbar a small amount will likely run out the vent tube, if not turn the fuel on for a second it should then run out if not its clogged. beaware when you go to start it you must hold the throttle wide open because it will be flooded from the fuel.

Well I have a 2000 wolverine and I know it doesn't. I flipped my over backwards in a creek and it was still running when I flipped it back over.
