I'm not a Blaster expert or anything (do know my share about 2 strokes though) but isn't it chain drive? That would mean that there is no diffrencial to any gear oil in. It's also a 2 stroke so it wouldn't have any cranck case oil either. Where are you putting the gear oil? What kind of weight gear oil is it? 80w90 or something like that? Low oil wouldn't do anything to the engine. I run big 150hp 2 stroke outboards and low oil just sounds an alarm or light to tell you to fill it up. Does the blaster have a feature like this. if you ran it dry that might have done some damage. The Blaster I believe has the Yamaha Autolube feature which automaticly mixes the gas and 2 stroke oil. If it stopped working that could also cause a problem. I hope that what you where putting in the oil resivour was 2 stroke oil and NOT acually gear oil (80w90, 90 or anything thats has an sae rating).
