Popping the clutch in 2nd from a stand still.

It begs the question... why would you do that? (in second)
Second gear is made to take the bike from (?) 20mph, to 40 mph (?)... not to wheelie from a standstill.
Thats what first is for.

Mr305X, I asked because I can sit on my bars and do wheelies very easily in 1st but I want to go faster. I figured maybe I will try starting out in second because I obviously cant shift while im doing that.

Also, I tried popping the clutch in second while rolling but all it does is spin the tires.

Hey stoppie... sure ya can shift mid wheelie.
It just takes practice!
Im just thinking about the tranny and clutch.
If your tires have enough grip to wheelie... and NOT spin the tires, and your revving the motor and
dropping the clutch in second gear thats not great for it.
I think your clutch will be short lived if your doing this.
On the other hand, if your spinning like crazy, then catching grip and pulling the front end up,
this isnt so bad on it. Its the initial shock of dropping the clutch in a high gear with tons of traction that
is hard on it im sure.
