Selling my Raptor. Whats it worth?
#1
Can't find good places to ride and nobody to ride with. Tired of beating the heck out of myself too. I'm getting too old for this stuff.
2002 Limited Edition
Totally stock motor
Yoshi full system
Armadillo +2" moly a-arms
Works tripples with rezzys
Graydon nerfs
New 6 ply razrs
Durablue axle
and more.....
A-1 mechanically. Plastic has many scratches.
No I'm not selling any parts off it yet! If I put it back stock then parts will go on ebay.
What do you guys think I could reasonably expect to get for it?

How many Hours? est. If low hours I would say 5000-5600 dollar range. No insult intended but It's rally tough to tell without a Picture. How do you like those A-arms they look like a good deal in RMATV but is the product any good.

general rule is mods are worthless on a resale.
I paid 5200 for my 03 NEW, I don't think you could get more then 5k used. But, I could be wrong, you may find someone who loves it and is willing to pay
check www.kbb.com and see what the resalve value is and go from there, ask higher then what you are willing to take

You probably have about 8 grand invested (maybe more) and you would be lucky to get half that back. There are a lot of Raptors for sale now that the 450 is out. Unless you can find somebody that appreciates all the extras you have on it, you would be better off puting all the stock stuff back on and get what you can on the aftermarket stuff. Either way, you're going to take a big loss. Sorry.

There are lots of used Raptors out there for sale and for 2004 Yamaha has lowered the price by $300. Add in the dealer financing offers and a used one is not too attractive. I would think you could get about $5000 with the mods on it, but may get more by putting the stock parts back on and selling the goodies on Ebay. One thing to help get your $ is to clean it very very well and detail it with Silkolene detailer (don't know the correct name on the label, but it is Silkolene). That stuff makes scratches disappear! An ad gets the looker, but the shine gets the $. Good luck.

Before the new 450 and before the FCRs, I put mine on ebay to see what it would fetch. I had $13K in it and the highest bid was $5400. My reserve was $13K, I had no intention of selling it:-) The pics on my page were the ones used on ebay, very clean. If you REALLY want to sell it, put it on ebay with a low starting bid and no reserve, you'll find out quickly what it's worth:-)
Your comment about getting too old doesn't hold water. I'm 38 and sitting here with a cast on my hand from racing arena cross. If you quit doing things because you think you are too old, you will get old very quickly. I ride with guys in their low/mid 20s and find that most of them don't yet have the mental endurance to really excel at anything.
Keep your Raptor and look for some type of organized racing that fits your riding style. You will find plenty of people to ride with (sometimes 30 at a time:-) and hang on to your youth.
