11:1 piston in raptor question
#1
I am thinking about purchasing an 11:1 piston and stage 1 cam in my '03 raptor after seeing a post about it the other day. I have a couple questions regarding the set up. I currently have a full yoshi comp system and k&n filter with jets. Should I strengthen the clutch to handle the added power of the piston? Also where could I find the piston? I kinda poked around in my new Dirt Wheels mag yesterday when it came in but really didnt find anything. Thank you all very much for any replies!

You need to call Bob Craycraft, or just go to there web site www.14mins.com

Craycraft did my head and jug work, I have a 12:1 with Hotcam Stage 2. I asked Bob about the clutch and he said that if I wasn't drag racing, the stock clutch would probably hold up. If it starts slipping, I will replace the basket and plates with GYT-R since they have a good reputation for reliability and I've heard mixed results about other clutch plates.

In Craycrafts site, they quote 12.1, stage2. Question, will they do a 11.1, stage 1, port & polish? and if so I wonder how much cheaper it would be than the first mentioned?

It may be "slightly" different since you wouldn't "need" the springs and so on. You know how much the parts run, you are paying for the work. It just depends on how extensive of head work you want.....
