Well I just got back from dunefest and it was pretty dang fun. Saw some forum members and lots of very fast quads. It was not as busy as I thought it would be. We rode and watched at winchester wens thrus and friday the went up to florence for saturday to do some racing. For those of you who havent been to florence the comp hills are very short and not very steep. My raptor was running awesome and I beat a 460ex stroker with 13:1 compression and everything else(dont ask me how, I think the guy sucked at riding) a couple cannondales and heres the real shocker, I beat a 750 raptor with ported and polished head cam piston gearing and 6 over swingarm. I have a CT piped and jetted raptor with a K&N(no lid) and gearing with stock swingarm so I cant launch hard in 2nd and he was launchin at 9 grand almost and I weigh 140 and he weighed about 160 I think. They built it themselves so that might be the problem. I also beat a piped jetted filter and geared predator but not by much and a piped vforce with the same result and I beat a extremely nice 440ex by a couple quad lengths. Me and a yfz450 were trading wins and loses. So overall a very good weekend of dune riding, nothing broke or went wrong xcept I flew off a razorback and it kinda hurt but o well my fault.

Man, you were beatin some fairly decent quads(or at least they should of been)!! I'm sooo dissappointed that my quad wasnt fixed for dunefest! I wanted to go whoop some a$$!! Oh well...I'm sure I'll run into most of those guys again cause I'm down there alot (when my Rappy is running!! LOL!)! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to dunefest!!

hey wildchild was the v force that you raced at florence an orange one and if it was did it have twin pro circuit T-4 pipes?i was at florence on saturday and i raced a very fast v force that was orange with the pipes that i described and i was only able to beat him by maybe a half a quad length up comp hill.the comp hill at florence is so short that the automatic on the v force is a big advantage because it lets the v force get the holeshot almost every time. i also went off a razorback on my raptor but i saw it in just enough time to gas it and get set up for a hard landing but it could have been worse.

Thanks bigbubba and ya I did have fun. Duneittludie - yep thats the one. I beat him by maybe a quad length probably 1/2 though. Where were you parked at ? did you do any racing up the staging area hill. By the way I got my pipe tested and I was at 100 db. The sheriff was really cool about it and said Id probably be legal anywhere but florence cuz its 93 at florence and 99 other places. Describe your raptor I might recognize you.

Those 700s are hard to beat off the line (partly cuz I cant launch) and hey carry their speed up the hill. I tried several approaches to racing up comp hill. Dump it and second and shift up to 4th (slightly boggy) and then I tried dumpin it in 2nd again and shiftin to 3rd and just pinning it, that worked alot better. I was EXTREMELY impressed with the yfz450s. Them suckers are fast.

wildchild my raptor is silver with a prm six pack rack and a set of eye ball head light covers and also it is pretty easy to spot me at 6'4" and 260 lbs.i was racing some very fast banshees at comp hill yesterday and was beating them halfway up the hill and they ended up getting me by about two quad lengths at the top but when i wanted to race them again they acted like it wasnt even a competition but i think for a four stroke that is very good especially considering the weight difference between them and me.i guess i am going to have to put some more money in to the old raptor just for the satisfaction of beating more of those guys.the least they could have done was to give me another chance or two to get maybe a little closer.i suppose it makes some of the built banshee riders nervous to even think about the possibilty of getting beat by a four stroke.

ya no what I remember a silver raptor. You werent racing or anything though so I had no idea it was you otherwise I wouldve came out and rode with ya. About the banshee boys ... I can hold my own agaist some of the lightly modded ones but after that their gone. There was a redline banshee there early saturday morning and he launched up comphill and right when he hit the gas he snapped his hub off his axle. He had a guy go gethis pickup and come get him but it was pretty cool to watch. did you do any racin at the staging area hill?

wildchild if you are only 140 lbs you should try those banshees on my mildly built 686 i think you could surprise more than a few of them.it would be worth it to let you ride it just for the satisfaction of seeing you beat some of the faster banshees as i am sure you could on my raptor with your light weight.

we will probably be there on labor day weekend although i am not sure which day because that is also the time that we start to get into our other pastime which is salmon fishing on the siuslaw river.i will try to remember to let you know when i am sure when we will be there so you can take the 686 up comp hill i think you would be impressed with the power for such a mild build.
