so what does everybody think about the new trx450r coming out next month? the sketch on atvnews.com looks like it'll be a sweet looking bike, wonder how well the engine will be compared to the yamaha?

 

is it me or does the bike have a bat-like appearance.

yeah i'm sure it will be much too small of a bike for me, and besides mx riding isn't for me. that's why i bought the ds. i like to use my bike for multiple purposes.

 

well if i had the money i'd buy one, but i like my ds, love the suspension, like ridin a cloud

come on know just because it isn't a big bore bike doesn't mean it isn't going to be fast. besides i'm sure honda would like to make a bike that can compete in the circuit. from what everybody is saying the new yamaha bike is stupid fast. give honda time i'm sure that honda will please that hunger out there that all those red riders have for a big bore bike. regardless of how it is, i'm just excited that so many new bike are being put out in the market, just as long as manufactures don't rush the bikes out before they are ready.

 

The dirt bike's piston only has one ring and Honda reccomends rebuilds every 14-16 hours! Hope they changed that on the quad.

 

well, i've raced the dirt bike versions of the honda and the yamaha 450's, and the honda is definitely faster, so if that's any hint??? i don't know

 

Those are just ball park figures to cover their butts. I had an 02'(one with the allegaded valve problems) from april of 02' till just 2 months ago, put roughly 40-50 hrs. on the bike, and it still had excellent compression. No sign of a need for top-end replacement. I think they're gonna be cool quads. If I had the money to afford a new one, I'd probably get it. But I'm perfectly content with mine. Especially for the price difference.
