Is 4yrs old to early for my son to get a Raptor 50?

Hes pretty big for his age, and loves motorized things. He will be 4 in Feb, and I told him I would buy him a 4-wheeler. My wife and mother in law says its to young?? I think hes ready, maybe even a 80 so he can grow in to it....

Yeah, and he loves it. Drives perfect never runs in to stuff etc. Hes already kinda board with it LOL.
Maybe an 80 to big, but I dont want to spend 2000 on a 50 and he out grow it to fast?

I have a 4 year old and my Godson is 4 also and they both have 80's and they are way to small to ride them. Me and my Uncle wish we went with the 50's. I see your point on the money issue with the 50's but i got my son a cheap (actually it's a 90) quad and my Uncle bought a Kawi kfx80 and the 80 is twice what my 90 is. So do yourself a favor a buy a name brand quad. Hope this helps.

I started my son out on an LT80 at 4 and1/2, had the throttle limit turned down so far, anything more than a 6" bump would stop it,took him to old gravel pits and let him putt around in the open spots. You couldn't get the grin off his face with a belt sander !!! Even at a couple of miles per hour,he loved it, and it didn't take long to get him used to the handling and eventually turned the speed up,by the time he was 6, it was full throttle, and he would hop over small jumps (couple of inches of air) and wip donuts on sand with the almost bald back tires(replaced when he started trail riding). Now at almost 13, he rides a 300ex, and is a very skilled and responsible rider who knows his limits and never takes chances or over drives his abilities. As long as he fits the quad good, let him ride, monitor him carefully, and you'll have a trail riding buddy for life.

I myself am only 15, and i am pretty short for my age,
I ride a yamaha grizzly 600cc, i have access to a yamaha moto-4, and a honda foreman...I have been riding atvs since i got my first one on my 5th birthday, and i got started on the battery power four wheelers, and my dads lawn mower lol......I think he should be fine as long as he understands what all the controls do, and as long as it has a decent rev limiter on it, now -a- days they are making remote kill switches, so you can shut off the atv if you think that the kid is going to hurt himself.....
