My younger brother is looking to buy a cheap but reliable machine for trail riding. We are going to look at a 1984 TRX 200 tomorrow, the guy says it is in really good shape, it has new bearings, and four new tires and rims. I was just wondering because it is 16 years old would this bike still have much life left in it, and what are some things I should watch out for when I am looking it over.

If the air filter is clean its probably been kept good. Most people change the oil but they hate or don't know the proper way of cleaning it. I've had 3 of these and they are pretty much bulletproof. I would use one of these for the trails before I would use my 400ex. There no fast machine but the'll climb almost anything in first gear. Any questions let me know.
