Default HEY STAKK....you out there?

I have a question....I think I have a choke problem already on my 650...(350 miles)I was in NYROCS site and there was a pic with replacement springs and a part number for the stronger ones.I took the # to my friendly dealer and they said it was a cable for $21.00.Do you have to buy the cable assy to get the springs?.This thing just started acting funny when it's cold.It seems to (load up) idle poorly but if i go run it kinda hard it clears up?? go figure.
Any info on those springs would be appreciated. Thanks

The choke cable is longer and better sealed but they stopped sending stronger springs with them ,why i don't know, Here are the part numbers for the choke springs that are stronger, to help if the plungers are sticking..Part # 92081-1720 you will need two of them, I think they are from a KLR dirt bike, they are about 50% stronger than the stock ones......If this doen't clear it up, you may need to play with your air/pilot screws....This may fix it, it sure won't hurt......The cable and the spring are seperate and different part numbers.....The dealer should have a memo from Kaw about potential cable problem and they are replacing ones that have problems with this new updated cable....It's not a recall but kaw will replace it free, the dealer shouldn't charge you as this is a " service bulliten update".......

The 03' model already has the updated cable so they should be OK, but over time, any cable can wear and stick....I noticed you said in another post about hard starting........Kaw set's the pilot screw's lean before they leave the factory to meet EPA spec's, they are supposed to be set at 2 1/4 turns out from fully seated......most i have checked are 1 3/4-2 turns out....TOO lean thus making it hard to start and "cold" natured, re-set them to 2 1/2 turns out and it will start better and idle better also........

I asked them about a service bulletin and of course they knew nothing about it.The mechanic even went thru his binder with everything in there from Kaw and Honda...(yes even Honda had some bulletins lol) and there was nothing in it about the choke......
Mine is a later 02,the dealer told me this before I bought it.He said he ordered 5 camos at the end of the year when Kaw offered them.
