i found 2 quads that i want but i dont know what one to get? a 98 warrior or a 91 4x4 fourtrax. i do a lot of road riding and i do some trail riding and some times a sand pit. i will have to go through 1 1/2 feet of water ocasionaly. and ill have to do a lot of stoping and going, i want a quiet machine but i want it to go 50 to 60 mph. will i be able to put enough mods on the fourtrax to make it go fast. i do some icefishing to.

 

I have replied to this kind of post a thousand times, but I will say it again. I rode a Warrior for years. I DO NOT recommend it!

An old 300 4X4 will be a pretty tame ride. But, my friend has a vintage one, and it is still going strong after all these years!

 

thanx, i am going w/ the fourtrax any way b/c it doesnt look like junk. iam gonna mod the fourtrax up. i use to own one ( a fourtrax ) 2wd and one day i was clocked at 40mph and the next after i got stuck in the snow and got it out i was doing 30mph [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]
so i traded it in i though it might have tranny problems. thats why i traded it in. the warrior needs tires and other stuff that i would rather mod up the fourtrax. just wondering......... why dont you recommend the warrior ? ive never rode one so i dont know to much of how they handle and stuff like that.

 

get a warrior hey reconranger Y do u always say i've rode a warrior for years don't get one!? theres nothing wrong with warriors except for suspension!

 

TrailBlazerguy, I think I replied to this same thing a few months ago. Are these two quads the same price? If there's a 91 Fourtrax and a 98 Warrior for the same price, you're getting ripped off. If you want something that can go as fast as you want it to go (50-60), get the Warrior for sure. Because I doubt that a Fourtrax, especially one that old, could even hit 50.

 

ya they are the same price but i want a quad to drag deer when i go hunting. and want 4x4 and the fourtrax is 4x4. and ive owned one b4 and i loved the thing but i think i was close to blowin the trany. i also go ice fishing so i need a 4x4. if i get the fourtrax i would mod it up.

 

u can't mod utilities like u can sport models get a good used wolverine

 

i cant find any wovlerines. i can get a pipe a k&n or some other kind of filter and i can get a 424 warn kit and much more

 

whats the price of the fourtraxx?

 

i would buy a worlverine but i cant get my trailblazer sold so the next best thing is to trade it in. they have a 98 worverine and they want $3000 but it needs new valve seals. and they want $2500 for the fourtrax and its not mint condition.
