Sand Mtn. DS DAYS. ETA'S.

I am sure somebody already posted this but what day does everyone plan on getting up there? I plan on being there Thursday afternoon. That place seemed to me like it would be a nightmare if you got there any later than that.

Uh oh. . . pressure is on
As you get into Fallon. . . first obey the speed limit signs - don't want anyone to start their weekend off with a ticket. Fill up here as it will be your last chance at fuel. Fallon is a good 20 minutes from the Mt. so . . get ice, beer, gas, etc. before you leave town. (We suggest anywhere but the last gas station on the left as it is a Indian owned gas station and the tribe is pushing for the closure of Sand Mt. - not saying all of the tribe is pushing but, the gas station is obviously a source of income for the tribe and they should want to keep the Mt. open!)
If you need to fill your trailer up with water, I have had good luck filling up at the Chevron (free). Some people will say don't drink the Fallon water so, if you are concerned plan accordingly (higher than average Child Lukemia!) I'm sure for showers, etc. it doesn't matter.
About 10 to 15 minutes out of Fallon there is a ***** house on the right. . . you are headed the correct direction!
You will go around two more turns (I think) after a couple long straight a-ways and there will be a sign telling you about the recreation area on the left. You should be able to see some lights out there (if you are arriving at night.) From the highway you will probably say, "That's It!" But, as you get closer and ride over the back of the Mt. you will realize the riding area is bigger than it looks.
As for the camping. . . I would think Sean - Jetsnow would be one of the first to arrive and would have a pretty big circle. We usually try to get a circle down towards the first bathroom (on the left just past the ranger / camping permit area.)
I'll try to get a feel for who in my group is going and when they are going and post something describing their vehicles so you can look for them.
I'll get you my mobile # so you can call me. It will all work out.

sounds easy enough, but that water for a shower is a bad joke. went to fallon in 85 with the military and that was a real learning experience. but hey it was funny then and would be again
