Is anyone going to Silver Lake for laborday. I have never been there and need any help I can get. I need to know where to stay. Camping or hotel. I also need to know what kind of permits are needed and what kind of flag to get and where I can get it.

 

Not sure where to stay but you will need a flag (several buggy shops around there that sell them) and an ORV sticker. The sticker cost $16.50 and is good until March of next year. If out of state you will also need to purchase a DNR sport card. I think it cost 1 dollar and is a one time deal. They will sell it to you when you get the ORV sticker. You will also have to get a voucher to get on the dunes if you have a trailer or a truck you don't plan to take out on the dunes. This is to reserve a parking space in their lot as space is limited. You will see signs directiong you to the voucher station. Get there early. You may be able to obtain the voucher on Friday evening. Not sure on this one. They only require them on weekends from July 4th through Labor Day.

Its a blast. I tried out my new V-Force last weekend up there. It did great even on stock tires. I'd love to get up there one more time this year.

 

You can get the parking lot voucher at 900 pm the night before you need it. I would get in line by 815pm on a holiday to make sure you will get one.

You can get a dune ready vouchers starting at noon friday, on friday you can get vouchers for the whole weekend.

You will also need a $4 daily state park pass per vehicle/atv.
