Where can I get valve stems that won't rub if I flip my front Raptor rims???

what would that stem do differently?

 

We use shorter valve stems to flip the rims for flat track/TT racing. I have yet to find a source that has the really short ones. The right ones have just the threaded part for the valve stem cap sticking out.

I took a set of wheels and had the hole welded shut. Then you drill the hole in the angled part of the other side. It worked out perfect. The wide side is in, and the valve stem is out.

If you're trying to put the wide side out, it will increase your steering effort.

 

All you would have on the rim is the threaded part....so if any day u would like to put air in the tire..all you would have to do is
1.take off the wheel
2.take off the cap on the threaded part of the stem that is on the rim
3.screw in the upper part of the valve and your done!

I had a set of these on my stock rims, but since I got new Douglas wheels with offset, I sold my wheels and have the stems laying around.

 

I did it once for a guy, I put took the tires off and put the valves stems in backwards, then drilled a hole on the opposite side for new valve stems.

 

What would be the exact size drill bit to use?

 

This is a good, cheap and time proven mod but be aware that it will put additional stress on your front wheel bearings since the postive offset is greater. Also it will make the front end softer since the wheels stick out further and act as a longer lever against your shocks.

I would only do this mod if width is more important than perforamence. The added stress on the front end (geometry) will eat your front end over time.

Derrick, I would just gauge the existing holes and drill the same.
