How do these pipes work on a banshee? Seriously looking into purchasing a set of these. Thanks.

I work at a Yamaha shop and I honestly have seen only one Banshee with Gnarly pipes. Didn't ride it however. The thing is, most Banshee owners and riders have Banshees for the top end power and speed. The Gnarlys are designed for bottom to mid range power. I'm sure they make a decent gain, but from what I have seen in person the 2 into 1 pipe is by far the best for bottom end. Personally, I would recommend an SST or Fatty if you want to stay with FMF. With the SST you won't have quite as much bottom as the Gnarly, but it's worth it because it'll keep pulling forever once you get rolling.

Reason I was asking is because I saw a test on them in 4 Wheel ATV Action and they said the pipes boosted the bottom and midrange, yet still had more top end than the stock pipes, so it still was faster on top than the stockers. To me, that sounds like a winning combination. Of course, we all know that we shouldn't trust what the magazines say so I wanted to ask on the forums because there are a lot of people who know a lot of stuff on here. Is there anybody here that can back up what 4 Wheel ATV is saying or are they full of crap? Besides the Gnarlys I was looking at some Pro Circuits. Thanks everybody.

I have to bite on this one..

Basically any aftermarket pipe is better than the stockers, bar none. The gnarly is not fmf's premier pipe, but still a good pipe. But it is not comparable to a pro circuit. A pro circuit is a veryyy good pipe and peaks off at around 9000 rpms, where the gnarly peaks at 8000, if not even lower. A pro circuit produces more over all power than a toomey T5 too.

But most of this depends on your application of your banshee. Trail riding requires a more low end oriented pipe, such as the gnarly or a 2-1 pipe, and dunes/drag require a more top end pipe such as the pro circuit. In the end its how u want it to preform.

I have ridden my friend's banshee in the sand with the Gnarlys and they have nice bottom-mid, but still rev out nicely. They are a great pipe for playing cat-mouse with friends and when ya play in technical stuff where you are varying the throttle. If you tend to hold the throttle wide open and drag race a lot, I will look to the SSTs, CPIs, or T5's.
