gas everywhere

Default gas everywhere

I need help! After riding, if I don't turn the fuel tank to the off position gas runs out the bottom of the atv. It seems to be worse if the tank has low fuel in it. Anyone out there who can help ?????????

The floats are sticking open, carbs probably need cleaned

is there anything that can be added to gas or maybe some type of spray that will do the job? not very mechanical minded and most of the mechanics around here seem to know about as much as i do.

Take it to a official dealer if you cont know how to clean a carb. what kind of mechanics are in your area??? haha

what kind of quad is it? probably a kodiak because my dad's did the same thing. as much as you don't want to, the only way to fix it will be to remove the gas tank and the carb (at least partially) and replace the needle and seat in the carburetor. it's either worn out or it's got a piece of crap in it. i can't remember if the seat is available separately or if it's part of the carb and can't be replaced, but you definitely need the needle. good luck. any more questions, ask me.

you guessed it trailblazer it isa kodiak and that sounds like it is going to be a chore to fix, it seems anytime the carb is tampered with the thing never runs the same

Carbs are very simple. $25 bucks worth of Craftsman tools, and a Haynes book, go a long way in fixing most problems with atv's. Maybe it's time you invested. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
