Default I want to find out what you other modded 400's run for clutching?

I have a 2002 scrambler 400 4x4 with 10 paddle extreme haulers, on .190 ITP rims. keihin 39 PWK carb, V-force reeds and spacer, HPD aluminum airbox with twin airfilter, billet premium head, oil injection elimination kit, single throttle cable, HSP speed kit (pipe and clutch kit blue primary, white secondary, on the 2-2 position, I-15 weights and 45/40 secondary helix.)I am going to get it trail ported and a wiseco piston put in soon and I already think the clutch could be better. so I would like to hear from all of you modded 400's about your clutches and how you like them. thanks for your support and info. BILL

I was running the hpd aggressive kit (red/yellow main, violet secondary 2-2, 40-36 helix, 10-58 weights) i was not impressed with it at all. It takes off ok starts to pull good in the midrange then falls off on top. I have now changed to runiing the secondary in the 1-1 position and put the stock s-55 weights back in. I havent run it like this yet but hope it will help.

I run the 44/36 helix ,violet secondary set in the 2-2 position.blue primary and s-55 weights.I think you you have too much tire.8 or 9 paddles would be plenty.I also run the NAPA kevlar belt.I also run different gearing ,for different conditions.

you'll have to change the clutching as soon you got the jug ported,
especially the primary spring,45-40 helix sound way too far for trail riding, you should be done with 55g weights.
