What plastic for 400EX?
#3
The Maier stuff is alot better than it used to be. I just bought the white race front and matching rear. This eliminates the need for the side panels. It also gets rid of the light housing. You can keep it on the shelf until you are gonna do some night riding. The light assembly is over $150! That's as much as the front and rear from the factory. So you don't want to break it. I got mine from Wind Mountain in Utah. It was under $180 [shipping was $22, I live in Chicago] My friend put blue Maier w/ lights and fenders on his 400. It looks like the Nac's project quad. Sharp, but looks like Yamaha to me. Full-blown is a new company [to me at least] I know they make 250r and Banshee plastic but not sure about 400ex. Call K&K ATV, they had it Red Bud last weekend. Sharp stuff

Hey wcy2k400ex,
Just happened to see that you are from Providence. My Great-Great Grandfather was from there. Most of them live in Marion/Shady Grove now, or up in Evansville. Me and some friends are coming down to ride at Turkey Bay. How is it? Any suggestions?
Let me know, Rob Towery

Trx440,
What are some of your relative's names? I may know some of them. I do know some Towery's from Clay. Clay is only about 5 miles away from Providence. Their names are David, Angie, Amanda, and Zack.
I have not been to Turkey Bay to ride, but I have heard many good things about it. My dad and a bunch of his friends use to ride down there at LBL. From what I hear from my dad and other people around here, it's a blast. It is suppose to have all sorts of riding conditions there. Just make sure you have a spark arrester on your exhaust, otherwise you can't ride.
I really like the Maier plastic. I didn't know that there was no need for those side-panels. That will save me some money. Is it hard to put on? What color do you think would look good? I have also looked at the white plastic. Please let me know what you think. Thanks a lot.

Hey wc,
They are all extended family like 3rd or 4th cousins or something. The Allens are the other side of my family. The white looks great, like a 89 250r. Blue looks good. I saw purple, it lokked cheap. I don't like the new honda yellow, looks like a suzuki. Hondas should be red or white w/red trim. The race plastic is easy enough to put on. You have to drill the holes though. The standard plastic is a pain, however. My friend had a hard time getting the light area installed on his Maier blue. It didn't want to line up. Wind Mountain in Utah had the lowest $$ I could find. I paid $177 for the race front/rear combo. Don't forget shipping, it will run you $25-$30. The box it came in was big----- 4.5' x 3.5'x 2.5' Good luck and happy shopping

I also think the white looks good. Joel's 400 looked real sharp. I went to Wind Mountain's website, and they have the front and rear race kit for $180. I believe I'll order from them. They're a lot cheaper than everywhere esle. How are they on shipping? Does it get there on time? Thanks.
