well you probly all ready know this but have bigger boost ports machined into the pistons. and if you have a long rod in your 250r then you can stroke it by using a spacer plate also LRD cdi high rev box you can find most of this at lrd.com i run a 38mm air striker carb and love it the jetting is 170. cool head, my 250r is 80 over tho. i run the fatty pipe. if you can give any tips love to here them .

Pipe first, porting and properly set head work w/cool head is the most important, carb third. Everything else motor wise is of marginal value to me unless you're building a serious drag racing quad.

Larger displacement will get you a little more HP, but stock cyl. have limited port areas, the aftermarket cyl. get more power. However, I'm cheap and don't think any of them are cost effective. The pistons/rebuilds are expensive too. Just my opinion. Whats yours?
