Default Opinion on price on 2003 Sportsman 400 out the door?

The guy at the dealership will sell it top me new for $5300 out the door. He says that is at dealers cost and he's gonna sell it to me for that price becuase he only has room for 6 quads in his showroom and the 2004's are in crates in the back. I've been to his place and he does only have room for about 6 quads, so I know he isn't Bsing me about that. Give me your opinion on the bike too. I just need one to make an occaisional hunt with and for my girlfriend to ride when me go muddin. I already got my Scram to play with. Thanks.

Hi there- my son inlaw just bought a new 03 400 Sportsmans WITH the EBS system dealer installed (free) for $5300 plus a free 1st service fluid change/check-up.Seems Polaris had a deal with the free EBS to dealers. He loves the bike and its almost as fast as my 500HO and goes everywehres the other bigger bikes go. Good luck on your purchase.Seems like a good deal for you-try the dealer for the free ebs.

This may be a silly question, all these out the door prices is it before taxes or including taxes

Not a silly question-the price on my son inlaws was just for the quad. The tax was extra. Here in NY state it was 7%.He did throw in 1 bumper and he bought the other one.The winch also was extra because at the time Polaris had no more winch programs going on and he didn't want to wait the 4 months since he bought his. He is very happy with the quad so far. Only 1 little minor problem but we fixed that quickly.

I called Polaris and the rep said he knew nothing or was not aware of any kind of special deal with the EBS. He said the dealers may be throwing it in for free, but not Polaris themselves. My dealer knows nothing about it also. If what they told me is wrong, I would appreciate some more info on the free ebs as I'm gonna purchase the bike today by 5 pm. Thanks!

I was looking at a 400 sprotsman a year ago, an 02' model. The EBS was a free option if I wanted it. I had to let the dealer know before I took delivery of it so they could install it on the machine. My understanding was the 500 H.O. came wth EBS standard but the 400 was optional. Either way, I did not take one home.

Blaster- I just got home from my local dealer and there WAS a POLARIS DEALER PROGRAM that if you bought a BN 03 Sportsman 400 WITHOUT the EBS-- POLARIS and the DEALER would put it on the machine-FREE OF CHARGE.The only thing you didn't get back was the factory parts they replaced the EBS with. When we picked up my son inlaws we both saw the POLARIS sheet telling about this program. This program was also running in Canada also as I ride with a couple fellas that got the FREE EBS on theirs also.We were tolf they did this to move a few more 400s out the door.If your dealer won't give you the free EBS come up here and mine will. As for your dealer selling it to you for cost--don't believe it.None of these dealers sell anything for cost!! Thats why alot of them still have some 02 models around. The way my local dealer deals is take the MSRP of the machine and knock $600 off that price and thats what he sells both his atvs and his sleds for. Good Luck.

TRAILBLAZERguy250- Seeing you are from Clayton, just look down the St.Lawrence River all the way to the WEST end of Lake Ontario.I live where the Niagara River comes out into the lake. I have been to Clayton numerous times-nice town and nice people.Great antique boat show too!! Take care.
